DJ Kaysolo's StarCoded Monthly Mixtape

StarCoded is an upcoming American pop music radio show owned by Warner Music, a division of Viacom. It broadcasts live weeknights from studios located in Culver City, Los Angeles, New York City, and Beverly Hills. The musical acts currently signed to the show are: Jack White (lead vocals), Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Ashanti, Akon, Kimbra, Ashley Tisdale, Rihanna, and Nicole Richie. This is not a show made for the faint of heart, but those who love pop and country music will enjoy this eclectic blend of music. If you enjoy late night infotainment programming, this may be the kind of radio show for you.

During each hour, StarCoded hosts a " mixes" show that showcases different songs from various artists that cross genre boundaries. The January edition features artists like Rihanna, Akon, Taylor Swift, Elton John, and Macy Gray. A track from Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" drops on the StarCoded second installment, "Dangerous," featuring Cash-A-Dee, along with her band Wacka Flockaz. Mookie McSpadden of Fall Out Boy co sings with Akon on the Mixtapes song "Return To Forever."

While the StarCoded shows are entertaining to listen to, they also have some surprisingly dark lyrics. Mookie McSpadden sang on the first "Dangerous" verse, "I'm gon' rip your title outta this roof," before being interrupted by a squealing, dog barking dog. While it may seem humorous that a boy's dog would steal the show, there is some underlying thought behind the lyrics. In the second verse, he added, "The next time you see this in the paper, I'm gon' be on some rockin' roll chick judge and send her packing," before warning, "Don't worry, kids, I'll get them soon enough."

The StarCoded Monthly Mixtapes, available for download monthly, come with the same content as the January edition, but in a lesser quantity. Kaysolo has a few good songs back, including the B-Boy instrumental "Back and Back," off his album What The Love. Another standout is Cash-A-Dee's cover of The Killers' "Don't Play This Song," which is just as funky as it was when it was first released. One song that may be missing from the StarCoded Monthly Mixtapes is DJ Kaysolo's version of Justin Timberlake's "Harrell's Got Trimps" ft. Theophilus Boykins and JT Money. On the other hand, DJ E-Z Rock makes an appearance with his song "Wyclefornia" (with production by Theophilus Montrose), and The Weeknd makes an appearance with his track featuring on the StarCoded song, "Wake Me Up."

While the starcoded monthly mixtape may be a stretch for mainstream listeners, it could be just what Kaysolo needs to make a name for himself in the music scene. The mixtapes are available for download for free, so long as you allow Kaysolo's music to be played on your iPhone or iPod. If you do this, the songs included in the package should all be hits and should give you hours of musical pleasure. The DJ Kaysololo beats on the StarCoded tracks, and mixes them with original hip-hop and R&B sounds from the likes of Pharrell, Rihanna, Chris Brown, J.I. Enjoy!

If you're looking for new and exciting sounds to add to your music playlists, the StarCoded Mixtape might just do the trick. If not, there's no reason to fret because the StarCoded Mixtapes are available for download as individual songs. You'll get the full effect with this method, but you could always order the whole month's worth of StarCoded monthly mixes via iTunes for a minimal fee. Either way, you can't go wrong with the mix. If you really want to make an impression, pick up the phone and call your local DJ Kaysololo and ask him to create a mixtape for you.
