What does it mean gay friendly?



If you are interested in making your city or city more friendly to the LGBT community, you may have heard the term "gay friendly." But what does it mean? Gay friendly refers to policies and the environment that makes gay people feel accepted, and promote equality. Cities that are "gay-friendly" also have a safe atmosphere and do not judge. This term is usually used in the context of North America and has developed as a result of gradual implementation of gay rights.


According to Gallup's poll, the Netherlands is the most gay friendly country in the world, with 87% of the population says they are comfortable being themselves. Other European countries are not far behind, including Italy, Germany, Portugal and Belgium. Compared to the U.S., eight out of ten gay -friendly countries, and eight are in Europe. Uruguay is ranked seventh, and Canada is in the top 10. There are 780 million people who live in countries that recognize gay marriage, and 2.8 billion people who have to live under the law that prohibits gay people from becoming part of the community.


Malta, a small island country in Mediterranean, has a small but enthusiastic LGBTQ community. There are several gay bars in the capital of Valletta, and the Gay Michelangelo club. This country has a weak gay law and a relatively low LGBT crime rate. Two gay men who wore PDA were never prosecuted, which was a sign of a very gay -friendly country. A recent Eurobarometer poll showed Malta as the most friendly LGBTQ country in Europe.


Uruguay has a large gay community, and has a variety of LGBTQ friendly places. It has several Naturist beaches, and many bars and LGBT -friendly restaurants. Buenos Aires hosts the annual Gay Gay Pride Festival, and this is a very good place for LGBTQ holidays. Mendoza, meanwhile, has an active LGBTQ community, and the government funds the Gnetwork360 conference every August. While Uruguay is a gay-friendly destination, be careful that it is not a club city.


The New Zealand government has taken steps to make New Zealand more friendly for the LGBTQ community. In February 2018, the government approved a bill that legalized same -sex marriage, which aims to make it easier for gay couples to get married. In June 2021, Thailand's top private hospital will open a clinic for LGBTQ+patients. And the new government announced new benefits for company employees and government agencies that offer jobs to the LGBTQ community. New benefits include family health packages and marriage leave. Homophobia is rare and becomes less common when young populations get older.


The Gay friendly community in Argentina has long been a pioneer in the Latin media, with transgender actress Florencia de la Vega played an open transgender character in Los Roldan Telenovela in 2004. In 2005, the 12 Corazones-Special Television Dating was made history by showing two gay men kissing on camera. Mayor Gay Robert Biedron continues to make history in the LGBT community.
