Sarasota architects have garnered awards from the Florida Chapter of the Society of Architectural Engineers since 2021. The recipients range from the Seasoned Contractor to the Distinguished Professional. Sarasota's top architectural firms are well represented at the society's annual conference. This prestigious event brings together local specialists in the design, construction and preservation of homes, business and government projects. This three-day conference offers a comprehensive look at the latest innovations in design and architectural practices.
Four Sarasota architects are receiving nationwide honors this week at the AIA Florida / Caribbean chapter's annual meeting. Among them is Lee Broyles, principal member of The Broyles Group. He is being honored for his leadership as an architect and partner in excellence at Architects Associates of Sarasota, Inc. (AASR), a national member of the Society of General Contractors and one of Sarasota's most successful independent architectural firms.
Awardees include: Robert R. Wegner, principal member of AIG; Robert W. Gann, principal member of WGHS Inc. and Robert C. Kaiser, principal member of Kaiser Consulting Inc. Of the seven recipients, four are holding firm positions at large firms while the fourth is a principal member of a small Sarasota firm. This year's awardees share a common challenge to continue to produce consistently superior work while maintaining affordability. These are exceptionally talented individuals, said board of directors. "The combination of these professionals' skills and experiences in the highly competitive Sarasota area cannot be matched," they added.
These awardees were recognized for their vision, creativity and expertise in design, construction and engineering. The recipients are expected to use their knowledge to contribute to the Sarasota community and improve the quality of living for all citizens. The architectural awards make a strong statement of commitment to excellence in architecture and design. "Awardees are provided the opportunity to use their technical skills and creative abilities to bring ideas and concepts to reality," said Joseph Lora, a member of the Board of Directors.
The recipients will also be able to tap into the experience and knowledge of the many successful awardees who have gone before them. "This year's group of awardees has a long track record of success and it is hoped that this experience will be utilized by these awardees to further their growth as professionals in the field," stated Mrs. Wegner. "We look forward to seeing their continued growth in the field," added Mrs. Gann. The Society looks forward to assisting each of its awardees in furthering their professional growth. Each awardee is also encouraged to share their success and achievements with others in the industry.
These awards honor both exemplary achievements and those who are outstanding in their field. Sarasota architecture is the fourth recipient of this prestigious award. This award is given to an individual who not only demonstrates leadership skills and outstanding contributions to the Sarasota community, but who has also displayed creativity and originality in the field. The recipients of this year's awardees are Joseph Lora, Frank Tillman, and Bill Young. Previous recipients of this prestigious honor have been awarded by the American Society of Architects Sarasota and the Society of Florida Architects.
